Earlier this month, the GoodOaks Homecare Horsham and Crawley team headed to County Mall to meet local people, answer questions and talk about care and support at home.
It was a chance to meet local people face to face, answer questions and share what support at home can look like. For the team, conversations like these are an important way to help families feel informed and prepared, long before care becomes urgent.
A faces in the heart of the town
Branch Directors Maricel Trinidad and Marilou Apa represented the team on the day, with a stand that was hard to miss. Dressed in GoodOaks green, it was filled with leaflets, service information and tubs of sweets for anyone passing by.
Shoppers stopped to pick up a brochure, ask about local services or simply say hello. Some had questions about a loved one, while others were curious about what visiting and live-in homecare involves. For Maricel and Marilou, every conversation mattered, whether it lasted a minute or much longer.
Why getting out in the community matters
Homecare is built on relationships, and relationships start with people. For the Horsham and Crawley team, being visible in the places local people already visit is a natural part of how they work.
Many families only begin exploring care when something changes suddenly, such as a fall or a stay in hospital. At that point, decisions can feel rushed and overwhelming.
By talking about care earlier, the team hopes to make those first steps feel calmer and more manageable. Knowing what options are available, and who to speak to, can make a real difference when the time comes.
Sharing the full range of care at home
The team was on hand to explain the different ways GoodOaks Homecare Horsham and Crawley supports people locally. Support ranges from 30-minute visits to round-the-clock care, including personal care, respite care, home from hospital care, companionship, dementia care, help around the home, emergency care and live-in care.
For many people, simply learning that support can be flexible and tailored to them was reassuring. Care at home isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it can start small.
Values that guide every conversation
Alongside the leaflets, the team displayed our PRIDE values: Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Empathy. These values shape how our care professionals support clients every day, and how the team welcomes every enquiry.
Our mission is to be the go-to provider of quality care at home by valuing, developing and rewarding the caring people who work with us. Days like this show that mission in action, with a local team proud to represent the care they provide.
More conversations to come
The Horsham and Crawley team is keen to be out and about in the community more often. Whether at local events, community spaces or town centres, they want to be a familiar and approachable presence for families across the area.
If you spot them at a future event, do stop by for a chat.
