The event brought residents together for a relaxed and friendly morning, creating a great opportunity to catch up, meet neighbours and focus on health and wellbeing. The team were proud to be part of such a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Alongside the coffee and chats, they offered free health checks throughout the morning, and the response was incredible.
Residents were especially keen to learn more about their health and wellbeing, with many asking about their NEWS2, National Early Warning Score, results and what their numbers meant. It was encouraging to see so many people taking an active interest in understanding their health and asking questions about what the readings could indicate.
In fact, demand was so high that the team were delighted to stay longer than planned to ensure that everyone who wanted a check had the opportunity! The queue certainly kept them busy, which is always a great sign of a community that cares about staying healthy and informed.
During the session, the team supported residents with checks including:
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Oxygen saturation
- NEWS2 scoring
- General wellbeing discussions
These simple but important checks help people stay informed about their health and can provide valuable peace of mind. They also open the door to meaningful conversations about wellbeing, lifestyle and when to seek further support if needed.
Events like this reflect The GoodOaks Way in action, putting people first, building partnerships within the local community and promoting a proactive approach to health and wellbeing.
We are incredibly proud of the Bournemouth and Poole team for their commitment to supporting residents not only with high quality homecare, but also by being visible, approachable and engaged in the communities they serve.
