VE Day celebration
To mark VE Day, the Reading team brought clients, their families, care professionals, and the office team together for a nostalgic afternoon tea celebration. Held in one of the office meeting rooms in Theale, the space was transformed into a charming tea room, complete with Union Jack decor, sandwiches, and sweet treats.
The aim? To connect, celebrate, and share some special moments with the very people they support.
The afternoon wouldn’t have been complete without the sounds of Vera Lynn and a singalong to “We’ll Meet Again”. To add a little extra fun, London-themed photo props made their way around the room too!
This event was a meaningful opportunity for the Reading team to really connect with clients and families, something that has always been central to the GoodOaks ethos.
As Amber Brightman, put it:
“We were thrilled to host our very first community event here in Reading. It was such a special afternoon and full of conversation and laughter. Building relationships with our clients outside of care visits is so important to us, and VE Day gave us the perfect reason to come together. We’re already excited about planning our next one!”
The event also served as a great way to gather feedback from clients and families about the types of community activities they’d love to see in the future. From tea parties to picnics and seasonal gatherings, the team is already brainstorming new ways to stay connected and build community.
We’re so proud of the Reading branch for leading the way with such a thoughtful event. For more information about their visiting and live-in care services, you can contact them HERE.
