Community events for older people in Barnet can create valuable opportunities to connect, make friends and feel part of local life.
At GoodOaks Homecare Barnet & Enfield, we believe care is about more than supporting people at home. It’s also about building meaningful connections, nurturing friendships and helping older people feel valued and connected to their local community.
That’s why we were delighted to host a community coffee morning at Wesley Hall, Barnet, organised by Puddenecks Club Charity. The morning brought older people together for coffee, conversation, music and, most importantly, the pleasure of spending time in each other’s company.
A morning filled with smiles, music and friendship
Wesley Hall was filled with warmth, laughter and a wonderful sense of togetherness. Guests had the opportunity to share stories, connect with others and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone could feel included.
Music added an extra-special touch, bringing people together through the simple joy of singing along and sharing a smile. It was a lovely reminder that even small community gatherings can make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
Spreading kindness, One kit at a time
A heartfelt thank you to St Vincent’s Primary School for providing the wonderful Kindness Kits. This thoughtful contribution brought an extra touch of joy to the morning and showed how a simple act of kindness can bring different generations together.
Small gestures can brighten someone’s day and help create a more caring, connected community. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make the event so special.
A ukulele singalong to remember!
A special thank you to Fren from Ministry of Sound for leading a fantastic ukulele singalong. The music created a lively, uplifting atmosphere, encouraging guests to join in, sing along and enjoy the moment.
Seeing everyone come together through music was a highlight of the morning. Shared experiences like these can spark conversations, bring back happy memories and help new friendships blossom.
