GoodOaks Isle of Wight Celebrates Recognition at Isle of Wight Care Awards 2025

GoodOaks Homecare - Isle of Wight has been recognised at the Isle of Wight Care Awards 2025, having been shortlisted in the category of Dementia Carer of the Year.

This nomination is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and commitment of the entire team at GoodOaks Isle of Wight, who work tirelessly to provide outstanding dementia care across the region. Every day, the team strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients and their families, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in the comfort of their own homes.

Dementia occurs when the brain is damaged—such as by Alzheimer’s disease or a series of strokes. However, the symptoms and effects of dementia vary from person to person, depending on which parts of the brain are affected, making early diagnosis challenging.

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, only 46% of people with dementia in the UK currently have a diagnosis. Early diagnosis is crucial in ensuring that individuals receive the necessary help, support, and treatment. GoodOaks Homecare provides care that enables people with dementia to maintain a sense of independence and dignity while continuing to live as normal a life as possible.
