GoodOaks Mid Sussex celebrates community spirit at Plumpton Races

We love seeing our branches getting involved in their local communities, and recently, GoodOaks Mid Sussex truly went above and beyond by sponsoring a race at the much-loved Plumpton Races.

The race was fittingly named “The GoodOaks Homecare you can rely on! Handicap hurdle race”, and it was a wonderful way for the team to show their commitment to the local area – not just through exceptional care, but by supporting events that bring people together.

A sunny day of fun

The team made the most of a glorious, sun-filled day. Elena, the branch director, hosted a table in the racecourse restaurant, where she was joined by Suzanne, Kinga, Karen (one of their amazing care professionals), and some of their friends and partners. Over a delicious three-course meal, they soaked up the atmosphere and enjoyed some top-class racing.

The day offered something for everyone, from a local market featuring artisan spirits, wines, and home-baked cakes, to a dedicated family area where children could meet meerkats and other friendly animals. It was a true celebration of everything that makes Plumpton Races such a beloved community event.

Flying the GoodOaks flag

As proud sponsors, Elena and her husband had the honour of presenting the trophy for their race and even judged the Best Groomed Horse – a task they took to heart! Their presence was felt throughout the venue, with a GoodOaks banner displayed at the finish line for the entire season, an advert in the official race card, and their promotional video shown on the big screen and in all the restaurants.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Mid Sussex team’s values and personality – warm, dedicated, and always community-focused.
