GoodOaks Reading and West Berks honours the Suicide Prevention Day

Last month a very special lady celebrated an incredible milestone birthday… 100! That’s right, 100 years of life, love, laughter and memories. This is a significant moment in anyone’s life, and we feel honoured to be a part of her journey.
We at GoodOaks, have been providing Live-in Care to Peggy since May 2021. Helping her with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and visiting friends. As we got to know Peggy, we were made aware of this very special upcoming birthday and knew we wanted to be part of the celebrations.
Our Bournemouth and Poole GoodOaks Homecare team helped client Peggy enjoy her big day and she was surrounded with cake, flowers, family and friends – A truly wonderful way to celebrate such a momentous occasion.
Tina Cobb, Live-In Care Coordinator for Bournemouth and Poole said: “We were so happy to be able to help Peggy celebrate her 100th birthday – what an incredible milestone. I’ve known Peggy for a while now and it is so lovely she’s been able to stay living in the comfort of her own home as she wishes, I know it means a lot to her. Peggy loved the cake we bought her and was touched by the card that everyone had signed. I know she’ll be excited to receive her card from the King, I can’t wait to hear all about it next week!”
Along with family and friends Peggy was also visited by her alternative care professional, Serap, who was on a break from her placement but Peggy’s family didn’t want her to miss out on the fun!
