East Dorset Director Adam Downer taking action to raise money for charity and reduce carbon footprint

Adam Downer, Director of GoodOaks East Dorset recently lost his much loved Aunt to Alzheimer’s after being diagnosed with the disease 5 years ago.

Adam, whose branch is based in Ferndown, has pledged to cycle to and from work for the entire month of October to raise money towards much needed research into Alzheimer’s disease. This will mean a 10k cycle every day for the entire month!

He has also decided to reduce down to a one car household during that same month to help raise awareness of how small changes can have a big impact in reducing your carbon footprint. This is something GoodOaks as a brand is  passionate about, it aligns with the carbon neutral status and promise to care for the planet.

Alzheimer’s is the most common disease that causes dementia; it alone accounts for around two thirds of all dementia cases. Alzheimer’s disease affects around six in every 10 people with dementia in the UK (Source Alzheimer’s Research UK

Commenting “caring for our planet as well as our clients is very important to me and I am committed to reducing the impact on the environment as well as fundraising for a disease that currently has no cure. Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of ageing and we need to support important research into this life limiting disease”
