On Friday, 25th April 2025, at the prestigious Isle of Wight Care Awards held at Northwood House, Cowes, our very own branch Director Camelia was named the Dementia Carer of the Year.
Camelia’s well-deserved win is a true reflection of the dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment shown by the entire team at GoodOaks Isle of Wight. Every single day, the team works tirelessly to provide outstanding, person-centred dementia care, making a real and lasting difference to the lives of their clients and their families across the island.
We know that dementia can affect people in deeply personal ways, with symptoms varying depending on which parts of the brain are affected. Early diagnosis can be challenging, and every individual’s journey is different. That’s why providing thoughtful, tailored support is so crucial – and why Camelia’s achievement means so much to all of us.
The awards evening itself was a fantastic occasion, celebrated in true style with a black-tie event, a wonderful meal, and plenty of good company. We were delighted to attend as a team, with many familiar faces joining the celebrations including:
- Camelia & Florin – Directors
- Caroline Sherwood – Deputy Manager
- Selina Sanders – HR Coordinator
- Pete Still – Care Coordinator
- Beth Pointer – Client Coordinator
- Mandy Rogers – Team Leader
It was a special night, full of pride and reflection on all the hard work that goes into providing excellent care. This award is a brilliant recognition of that.
Congratulations once again to Camelia and the entire GoodOaks Isle of Wight team – your passion and professionalism truly shine through in everything you do.
