Weekly dementia social groups in Hillingdon

For residents living with dementia and their carers, friendly weekly sessions take place at libraries across Hillingdon. These relaxed and welcoming groups provide a safe space to socialise, take part in activities and connect with others.

  • Botwell Green library: Thursdays, 11am to 12pm

  • Harefield library: Tuesdays, 11am to 12pm

  • Northwood Hills library: Tuesdays, 2.30pm to 3.30pm

  • Oak Farm library: Thursdays, 2pm to 3pm

  • Uxbridge library: Tuesdays, 10am to 11am and 11.30am to 12.30pm

  • Yeading library: Tuesdays, 2pm to 3pm

These sessions are a wonderful way to reduce isolation and enjoy supportive community time together.

Creative and learning opportunities

Hillingdon’s libraries and community centres host a variety of workshops and classes designed to keep minds active and curiosity alive. Upcoming sessions include:

  • IT taster course, Botwell Green library: 2 March, 2 – 3pm and 4 March, 2pm – 3pm

  • Herbs of hamnet: 3 March, 7pm – 8pm

  • Dementia friendly sing along: 4 March, 1pm – 3pm

  • Unwind and unravel stitch group: 6 March, 10.30am – 12pm

  • Repair and reuse day: 7 March, 11am – 2pm

  • International Women’s Day, battle of the bunker: 8 March, 10am – 4.30pm

  • Adult colouring, Northwood pop up library: 11 March, 11am – 12pm
