Dancing on Wheels is an inclusive, uplifting group that provides wheelchair users with the opportunity to stay active, socialise, and enjoy the benefits of movement and dance.
The sessions are open to everyone, whether they use a wheelchair or not, creating a warm, welcoming space for all abilities to connect, move and have fun together.
Recognising the incredible impact of this initiative, the team were eager to get involved. A couple of their staff members have already started volunteering regularly, offering support to attendees and helping the sessions run smoothly.
Their involvement reflects GoodOaks’ ongoing commitment to inclusive care and meaningful community engagement.
Janica Calderon-Daniels, Registered Manager at the New Forest branch, shared her thoughts, “We’re so proud to support Dancing on Wheels, it’s a brilliant initiative that brings movement and connection to so many people. Our team absolutely loved being involved, and it’s wonderful to see the positive impact it’s having, not just for the participants, but for our staff as well.”
Volunteers from the team have shared how rewarding it’s been to support the sessions, from the energy in the room to the smiles on participants’ faces, it’s clear that Dancing on Wheels is more than just a dance class. It’s a vibrant community that brings people together through music, movement and friendship.
The New Forest team are really taking active steps to support local organisations like Dancing on Wheels, championing independence, dignity and joy for everyone, regardless of mobility.
