That’s why we’re so proud to share a wonderful new idea implemented by one of the team members, Jemaya Bailey, from our Bournemouth and Poole branch.
The initiative was designed by Jemaya to bring a little extra joy through something as simple, yet meaningful, as a handwritten postcard.
The idea is beautifully simple: members of the local community are invited to write a friendly postcard and either send it to the office or drop it into the special postbox at Redhill Park Cafe. From there, the team will carefully deliver these postcards to clients during their visits or as part of their usual care rota. It’s a small gesture, but one that can make a huge difference, especially for those who may be feeling a little isolated and alone.
If a client wishes to write back, they absolutely can! Their reply will then be taken back to Redhill Park Cafe, where community members can collect it and continue the conversation if they wish. To keep things comfortable for everyone, the postcards will be anonymous to start with, though clients can choose to share their name if they feel happy to do so.
The hope is that, over time, more local businesses and cafes will join in and host postcard postboxes, making it even easier for people across the community to take part.
This heart-warming project has already started to create a buzz, the team are thrilled to be working alongside Redhill Park Cafe, whose manager, Rachelle, has kindly supported the idea. The goal is simply to help bring people together, one friendly message at a time.
If you’d like to get involved, why not pop into the cafe, grab a postcard, and write a few kind words? You never know the difference it could make to someone’s day
