At GoodOaks Homecare Aylesbury, we believe caring for people goes hand in hand with caring for the communities we all call home. That’s why our office team recently swapped their desks for litter pickers and headed to Weston Turville for an afternoon of giving back.
Armed with bags, gloves and plenty of enthusiasm, Fiza, Carlene, Majida, Lara and Zee spent the afternoon collecting litter from around the local area. Thanks to a real team effort, we made a noticeable difference, particularly along Marroway.
Connecting with the local community
One of the highlights of the day was when a couple walking their dog stopped to chat with us. They were curious about who we were, what we do and why we had chosen to spend our time litter picking.
It was a lovely opportunity to tell them more about GoodOaks Homecare Aylesbury, our commitment to supporting local people and why being an active part of the community matters so much to us.
As we continued along the main road, we were met with plenty of encouraging honks, smiles and thumbs-up from passing motorists. It was wonderful to receive such positive support from local residents and a reminder that small acts of kindness can bring people together.
