We are delighted to share that GoodOaks Homecare Horsham and Crawley has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission following its recent comprehensive inspection in January 2026.

GoodOaks Homecare Horsham and Crawley led by registered nurses and franchise owners Maricel Trinidad and Marilou Apa, the branch delivers high-quality homecare across Horsham, Crawley and surrounding areas including Southwater, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead.

This latest inspection result reflects their clinical expertise, strong leadership and unwavering commitment to The GoodOaks Way.

A strong safety culture

Inspectors highlighted the branch’s proactive and embedded safety practices, noting:

“The service demonstrated a positive safety culture.”

From thorough pre-service assessments to robust electronic incident logging and clear escalation processes, safety is embedded into everyday practice at the branch. Risk assessments were described as person-centred, supporting people to manage risks while maintaining independence.

Effective, joined-up care

As nurse-led directors, Maricel and Marilou bring clinical oversight and evidence-based practice into every aspect of care delivery. Inspectors recognised this approach, stating:

“Care plans reflected best practice, national tools such as the Waterlow tool were utilised and guidance to staff was clearly reflected in care plans.”

“Partnership working was evident with external professionals, ensuring joined-up care.”

From hospital discharge support to complex pressure care, the team works closely with local healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and consistency for the people they support.

Compassionate and person-centred

The inspection report highlighted the kindness and dignity shown by the team:

“People reported being treated with dignity and respect.”

Care plans were personalised and reflective of individual preferences, hobbies and cultural needs. Inspectors noted: “Care plans were detailed and tailored to individual needs, including sensory impairments and communication requirements.”

Independence and autonomy are central to the branch’s approach, with inspectors confirming that people felt respected and empowered in their own homes.

Responsive and reliable support

Families and clients benefit from a responsive service, with access to support 24 hours a day through the on-call system. Inspectors recorded:

“People were able to access the service 24/7 through the on-call system.”

Flexible care provision ensures packages are adapted as needs change, while consistency of care professionals helps build trusted relationships across the local community.

A well-led service with clear values

The leadership of Maricel and Marilou was recognised as a particular strength. Inspectors highlighted:

“The service had a clear vision and values embedded in recruitment and practice. The staff understood and embraced these values.”

They also found that “Leadership was visible and accessible.”

Community engagement was another standout feature, with the branch actively collaborating with organisations such as Age UK and supporting Dementia UK initiatives locally.
