GoodOaks Homecare Bournemouth and Poole recently hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning, bringing clients, colleagues and office staff together for tea, homemade cakes and fundraising in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The office was filled with friendly chatter and warm welcomes as everyone enjoyed a cuppa, sampled the delicious cakes and took part in a raffle. With all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support, it was a lovely opportunity to support a charity that makes a real difference to people living with cancer and their families.
Celebrating our clients, colleagues and amazing cake bakers
It was wonderful to see how much our clients enjoyed joining in. They tucked into the cake, chatted with colleagues, caught up with familiar faces and shared plenty of laughs along the way. For many of the people we support with visiting care, a morning like this is a chance to enjoy a change of scene and spend time with others, and it was a joy to have them with us.
The real star of the morning was our care professional Sharon, who baked the most incredible cake for our raffle. Decorated with colourful flowers and topped with a coffee cup and biscuits, it was a showstopper.
Not content with that, Sharon went above and beyond and baked another five cakes for our cake table. They looked and tasted amazing, and we are so grateful for the time, effort and love she put into making the morning so special.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, baked, bought a raffle ticket or simply stopped for a cuppa and a chat. It was a brilliant morning, and a great reminder of what a community can do together.
