Following the success of last year’s free First Aid and Life Support training delivered to the Chilterns Neuro Centre, the Aylesbury team has once again gone above and beyond. In April, they offered free Basic Medication Training to family carers, providing vital knowledge and confidence to those caring for loved ones at home.
The training covered essential topics such as safe handling and administration of medications. Designed specifically for unpaid carers, the session aimed to reduce anxiety, promote safety, and equip individuals with the tools they need to provide the best care possible.
This initiative reflects the values at the heart of GoodOaks: going beyond the expected to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. By supporting informal family carers, the Aylesbury branch continues to strengthen the community care network and ensure that everyone – whether a care professional or family member – feels supported and informed.
Director Fiza Bukhari said, “We know how challenging it can be for family carers who are often balancing so many responsibilities without formal support. Offering this training is one small way we can help ease that burden. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our local community leave feeling more confident and better equipped to look after their loved ones.”
We’d like to extend our thanks to the team at GoodOaks Aylesbury for their dedication and for continuing to lead with kindness, expertise, and initiative. For more information about the visiting and live-in care services they provide, you can contact them HERE.
