A FREE Nuffield programme that supports older people to stay strong and independent

Recovery that doesn’t stop at home.

Did you know?

At GoodOaks Homecare – Woodford Green, we already work closely with Nuffield Health’s The Holly Hospital in Buckhurst Hill to support clients recovering from knee surgery. Our care professionals help bridge the vital gap between hospital and home – assisting clients through daily routines, gentle mobility exercises, and confidence-building after discharge.

But did you also know there’s now another fantastic, free local service that can help people continue their recovery journey long after hospital care ends?

The Nuffield Health Joint Pain Programme

Available at the Nuffield Health Gyms in Chingford and Chigwell, this Joint Pain Programme is designed for anyone struggling with ongoing joint pain. Whether it’s from arthritis, previous surgery, or general stiffness that makes daily activities harder.

Even better, it’s completely free and can last up to a year, providing support from qualified health and fitness professionals who truly understand how to help you move safely and confidently again.

What makes this programme special?

  • Professional support – the sessions are led by trained rehabilitation specialists.
  • Structured recovery – participants attend gentle exercise sessions and educational workshops over 12 weeks.
  • Long-term access – after the first 12 weeks, you can continue using the gym for free for several months with ongoing guidance.
  • Health checks – you’ll get three personalised assessments (at the start, halfway, and end) to track your progress.
  • Community focus – it’s a safe, social, and empowering environment, perfect for seniors looking to stay active and independent.

For many of our clients recovering from joint replacement or managing arthritis, this kind of extended, no-cost programme is truly rare – and it perfectly complements the in-home care we provide through GoodOaks.

A powerful recovery pathway

Here’s how it fits together:

  1. Hospital to home: After surgery at The Holly Hospital, our GoodOaks care professionals help with day-to-day support, safe movement, and recovery routines.
  2. Home to strength: Once clients regain confidence, the Joint Pain Programme can help them maintain mobility and reduce pain with structured, expert-led sessions.
  3. Ongoing independence: The combined care approach – personalised homecare and free community rehabilitation – helps older people stay active, social, and pain-free for longer.

Why we love it

At GoodOaks, we’re always looking for ways to connect our clients with trusted, local services that improve their quality of life. This Nuffield Health initiative is one of the best we’ve seen because it’s combining clinical expertise, accessibility, and compassion in one brilliant programme.
