GoodOaks Reading launches its first Social Circles group

Bringing connection and companionship to the community.

At GoodOaks, we know that great care goes beyond the practical. It’s about kindness, community, and connection. That’s why we’re thrilled to celebrate the GoodOaks Reading branch, who have successfully launched their very first Social Circles group this month!

What is “Social Circles”?

Social Circles is a new GoodOaks initiative designed to help combat loneliness and isolation among older people. This is something that affects far too many in our communities. Through friendly gatherings, shared activities, and a delicious home-cooked lunch, these groups run on weekdays from 10-3pm and include transport to and from the hosts home.

The Reading team has really embraced this mission. Their first Social Circles meet-up brought together local older residents for a relaxed and welcoming session. It’s a huge milestone, not only for the Reading branch, but for the wider GoodOaks network, as one of the first teams to get their Social Circles group up and running.

A testament to dedication and community spirit

We’re incredibly proud of the Reading branch for the care, and enthusiasm they’ve poured into making this happen. Launching the first Social Circles group highlights their commitment to the wellbeing of their clients and the wider community.

By taking this step, the team is helping to show what GoodOaks stands for – care that goes further. Together, we’re creating not just a network of care professionals, but a network of kindness and connection.

Looking ahead

The success of the Reading branch’s first group shows the huge potential of Social Circles to make a difference across our network. A big congratulations to the team at GoodOaks Reading for leading the way  and for showing how small acts of togetherness can make a big impact. For more information you can contact the branch HERE.
