We were up against some really big names in care and couldn’t be any prouder of our achievements and these accolades. Being honoured as experts in both Nutrition and Hydration and Learning and Development highlights how we are going above and beyond to bring change in the sector that we care about so deeply.
The Home Care Awards pursues examples of the expertise of companies providing home care across the UK and praises teams that are making a difference by raising the standards in the industry.
We have taken huge strides over the past year, offering quality training and development to our people by launching the online GoodOaks Academy. The Academy provides over 30 free courses for both paid and unpaid carers. Our aim is to deliver targeted learning to help people who may be caring for a loved one at home, but have no previous experience in care.
We have also collaborated with Bournemouth University on a long term study working together with people living with dementia, and their family carers to provide nutritional care for those people at home.
Dr Gladys Yinusa – Bournemouth University and NIHR DEM-COMM Fellow said: “It’s such a great opportunity to be working together with GoodOaks Homecare through our research to improve nutrition and hydration for people living with dementia at home – a significant research priority in the home care sector. We recognise the vital role of collaborative partnership in research to contribute new knowledge and insights into approaches to beneficially impact the lives of people living with dementia and their carers. We look forward to continuing our joint efforts.
