Office Location 2

Seven practical considerations when making your decision.

Last week I talked about one of the biggest factors when choosing where to locate your office.

Here’s another seven practical considerations when making your decision:

  • Parking – This is really important as most Care Pros need to drive. If they have to pay for parking or it’s a bit of a pain, this will put people off even attending interviews, let alone coming in for meetings, to pick up PPE, etc.
  • Connectivity – Fast internet and good phone signal is crucial. All systems are cloud based and poor signal can be a real issue.
  • Transport Links – For efficient use of your and your teams’ time, being able to quickly get from the office to where your clients are likely to be based is key.
  • Your competition – It can actually be beneficial to be based around your competition; you’re more likely to be visible for both Care Seekers and Care Pros. Since we moved into our Bournemouth and Poole office, Right at Home and Bluebird have moved into offices within 100m of us. The more the merrier.
  • Proximity to hospitals and medical facilities – Being near a hospital is can enhance the convenience and credibility of your services
  • Visibility – This can really help you cement your place in the local community, as our Sussex South office have done here. This might be a phase 2 office, once you’ve got a bigger team and are sure it’ll be staffed full-time.
  • Flexibility – You don’t want to be stuck in an office that you’ve out-grown, which can happen quite quickly. Make sure you’ve got a break clause in your agreement, or are on a rolling monthly contract.

If you’re curious as to where I’d be looking for office space in your area, just get in touch with the location you’re looking to start up in and I’ll see what I can do.

Best wishes, Ben.
