Awards

It’s been a busy and brilliant few weeks here at GoodOaks! From award wins on the national stage to welcoming new franchise partners into the network, there’s lots of great news to share.

I thought I’d give you a quick update on GoodOaks goings on…The Home Care Awards – one of the big events of the sector’s calendar – was last Friday. As a brand, we had our best ever night, picking up FIVE awards, including the last and most prized award of the night; the Grand Prix award, selected by the panel of judges as the ‘Best in Show’. Vroom Vroom. Our other Home Care Awards wins were:

  • Marketing expertise
  • Best start-up office (shout out to Shaz and Naz, who joined us for our Insight Event last month)
  • Best individual office (a GoodOaks shoot-out as two of our offices went head-to-head)
  • Rising Star Award

New Locations Opening

We had a brilliant week with the owners of GoodOaks Maidenhead and Windsor, and GoodOaks Watford and are looking forward to getting cracking with our GOSTART Programme getting them up and running as quickly and effectively as possible. We’ve also been having some interesting conversations with impressive caring entrepreneurs and our next cohort of franchise partners is filling up fast.

Annual Business Reviews

Over the last few weeks we’ve been undertaking our annual business reviews with franchise partners. It has been a really inspiring few weeks, and doing a deep dive into the details some metrics have surprised us. That 10-15% profit we quote in our franchise literature? It looks like we might need to adjust that soon 📈

Local Awards

And a quick tip to end on – When you’re starting out, have a look at what local awards are taking place regularly in your area – General business awards and any care specific awards. Also, don’t be afraid to put yourself forward for national care awards too, if you’re doing something special for your clients. Often the awards submissions are in the summer and awards season seems to be autumn/winter. Make sure you put the deadline (and then four weeks before the deadline) in your calendar, or content calendar if you’re the one that organises. It is so easy for the day to day to take over and you find that you have to wait another year.

That’s all for this week.

Best wishes, Ben.
