GoodOaks Homecare, the UK\u2019s only carbon-neutral home care franchise has held its\u2019 annual conference at The Swan in Streatley.<\/p>\n
On the agenda was a keynote speech marking the network\u2019s success and growth over the last two years, a workshop on preparing for the upcoming social care reforms, an inaugural awards ceremony, and a surprise visit and talk by British Olympic legend Eddie the Eagle.<\/p>\n
There were five hotly contested award categories, and the overall winners were:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Care Team of the Year – GoodOaks Mid Sussex
\n\u2022 Registered Manager of the Year \u2013 Gill Sutton (GoodOaks New Forest)
\n\u2022 Sustainability Award – Elena Mlajiceanu (GoodOaks Mid Sussex)
\n\u2022 Pinnacle Award \u2013 GoodOaks Reading and Newbury
\n\u2022 Rising Star Award \u2013 GoodOaks Aylesbury<\/p>\n
The event was organised in a covid secure manner, and saw delegates from Mid Sussex come together for the first time in two years.<\/p>\n
Ben Ashton, co-founder of GoodOaks, said: \u201cEvery single office is bigger and busier than we were before the pandemic, and that is a testament to the essential, valued work we do every day.\u201d
\n\u201cIt was an honour to spend the day with our franchise partners, discussing plans for the future, celebrating success, and enjoying reconnecting and networking with everybody after what has been a challenging period.\u201d
\nWhen asked what advice Eddie the Eagle would give others starting a business, Eddie said: \u201cNever give up. If you have a goal, a dream and ambition, hold on to that and never give up. You might get part of the way there, you might get halfway there, you might get the whole way, who knows!\u201d<\/p>\n
